Heritage Hikers at Veterans Park, Sycamore Grove
May 10, 2011
A group of Heritage Estates residents and staff spent a beautiful spring morning walking the trails at Veteran's Park in Sycamore Grove, Livermore. Mid-way, the Visiting Angels provided the residents with some refreshment and shade. After hiking 2.5 miles, the group enjoyed lunch in the park. The walk was a training event to prepare residents for the 3 mile Walk To End Alzheimer's sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association. The Walk will take place in San Francisco in September. It will be the 3rd year that Heritage Estates' residents and staff haved participated in the Walk. The residents will continue their training efforts by walking at Muir Woods in the near future.
“Being a long-time homeowner, I never thought that living in a retirement community would be something I'd be interested in. I have to say that moving to Heritage Estates is the smartest thing I've ever done. The staff is caring and helpful and they provide many fun activities. The meals have been excellent. I have made many new friends and look forward every day to life in my new home.”
